Flame Retardant Rubber Manufacturer in India

Gayatri Rubbers & Chemicals Ltd is a specialist flame retardant rubber manufacturer engineering fire-safe elastomer solutions for railways, defence, infrastructure and industry. From EN 45545-2 HL3 rubber compounds to precision rubber profiles, every product is developed to protect lives and assets where fire safety cannot be compromised.

Flame Retardant & Fire Resistant Rubber

Our flame retardant rubber and fire resistant rubber grades are compounded with halogen-free flame retardants and smoke suppressants that self-extinguish, limit smoke density and keep toxic gas emissions low. Certified to the highest HL3 hazard level of EN 45545-2, they are trusted for metro, mainline and high-speed rolling stock across India and export markets.

Railway Rubber Solutions

As an RDSO-approved Indian Railway rubber manufacturer, GRCL supplies railway rubber products including door and window seals, gangway bellows, anti-vibration mounts, rail pads and cable grommets. We manufacture 65 of the 75 rubber components used in a modern railway coach — all engineered to fire-safety and durability specifications.

Industrial Rubber Products

Our industrial rubber range covers EPDM rubber profiles, silicone and neoprene extrusions, custom compounds and moulded components. With NABL-accredited testing and in-house R&D, we tailor hardness, tensile strength and elongation to exact application requirements for automotive, solar, architectural, pharma and electrical sectors.

Fire Safety Applications

Where enclosed spaces demand proven fire performance — underground metros, tunnels, defence vehicles and electrical enclosures — our fire safety rubber components deliver low flame spread, low smoke density and low toxicity. Every batch is validated for fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) before dispatch, backed by ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 and RDSO certification.

What is flame retardant rubber?

Flame retardant rubber is an elastomer compounded with additives that slow ignition, self-extinguish once the flame source is removed, and limit smoke and toxic gas release. Unlike standard rubber, a fire resistant rubber grade is validated for flame spread, smoke density and toxicity before it can be used in enclosed spaces such as rail coaches, tunnels and electrical enclosures.

What is EN 45545-2 HL3?

EN 45545-2 is the European fire-safety standard for materials used in railway rolling stock. It defines three hazard levels, and HL3 is the most demanding — applied to sleeper cars, underground and high-speed services. HL3 rubber must pass heat release, smoke opacity and toxicity testing at the strictest limits of the standard.

Which industries use flame retardant rubber?

Railways and metro rail are the largest users, followed by defence vehicles, tunnelling and infrastructure, electrical and switchgear enclosures, solar and construction glazing, and general manufacturing. Typical parts include rubber profiles, gaskets, extrusions, grommets, bellows and moulded industrial rubber components.

Why choose GRCL as your manufacturer?
